They are mother and daughter miniature Sicilian Donkeys. Roxy is on the left and Izzy is on the right. All Sicilian donkeys have a dorsal stripe and a dark cross strapped across their withers. This creates the cross shape design over their back which lore tells us was put there to symbolize the Christ child being carried upon the donkeys back across the desert.
Joe Macari donated both Izzy and Roxy to us from his Vineyard in Mattituck, Long Island. They are both extremely shy but they love children, carrots and apples (not necessarily in that order).
The girls are traffic stoppers because of how incredibly cute they are. They have a forever home at Spirit’s Promise.
Help support Izzy and Roxy!
It costs $235.00 per month for us to care for Izzy and Roxy.
Each month, Izzy and Roxy eat 14 bales of hay ($170.00), and are seen by the farrier and vet ($65.00).
Your generous donation will help us to continue caring for Izzy and Roxy.

“It’s snowing still,” said Eeyore gloomily.
“So it is.”
“Yes,” said Eeyore. “However,” he said, brightening up a little, “we haven’t had an earthquake lately.”
