Spirit’s Promise is dedicated to the life of a horse and rescuing those in crisis.
Spirit’s Promise Equine Rescue and Rehabilitation is a non-profit, multi-faceted program encompassing the rescue of abused, neglected, or unwanted horses.
Located in Riverhead, on the east end of Long Island, New York, more than twenty horses have found companionship, respect, love and retreat at the rescue center. Through Spirit’s Promise these horses get a second chance as teachers and healers.
The only thing more beautiful than the horses at Spirit's Promise are the people. Marisa and her family are a wonderful, kind, welcoming group. So glad for the opportunity to spend the day there!Samantha F.
Founded in 2011 by Marisa Striano, determined to make a difference in the treatment of horses worldwide, she developed a rescue and rehabilitation for horses and people, alike.
Here at Spirit’s Promise, the horses learn from us, and we learn from them. We are educating the public by showing that these gentle giants can trust, love and find companionship with both humans and other horses, again. After all, trusting again is a choice.

My family and I would like to thank Spirit's Promise for their offer of assistance and support in this time of need. My mother has just had major back surgery and can not take care of her 2 horses anymore. We made some calls to other rescues but they were full and could not help us. We were running out of hope...There are no words to say how much my family and I appreciate what Spirit's Promise has done for us! My family and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts!MaryAnne C.
